Dawn Williams , NP

I am a Family Nurse Practitioner with 24 years of nursing experience. I possess a master’s degree in nursing, and I’m certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.  I am also certified in Care Coordination & Transition Management through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This certification recognizes my ability to provide patients with a safe, effective, and efficient healthcare experience, while assisting them with navigating the health care arena.

My nursing experience includes working with patients of various age groups from pediatrics to adults. I have managed a large primary and specialty care practice that resulted in improved health outcomes of patients with hypertension and diabetes.

While working in the local community, I noticed that their patients would benefit from having more education and knowledge about risk factors such as ethnicity, age, social economic status, and family history which can make them more susceptible to illness.

My professional goal is to partner with patients to maintain a healthy lifestyle and to enhance their knowledge about common chronic health conditions that affect minority populations, while creating customized lifestyle modifications that can have a direct result improving the patient’s quality of life.  I believe that healthcare should focus on the total person to include the mind, body and spiritual health and wellness.

In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, volunteering with my church to help the underserved and traveling to the Caribbean Islands.
