Heart Health

Healthy food choices play a prominent role in our daily living and improves one’s quality of life.

Healthy options include:

  • Protein

  • Fiber

  • Carbohydrates

  • Minerals

  • Vitamins

Having a diet high in saturated fat can contribute to many health conditions such as heart attack, stroke, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. Foods that contain this kind of fat are lean meats, dairy (this includes cheese) and processed foods (packaged and fast food). LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) levels can rise in the blood due to the large amount of saturated fats in food–THIS FAT CAN CLOG YOUR ARTERIES. Changing to a healthy diet with foods that have unsaturated fats would be more beneficial. Unsaturated fats are known as healthy fats. These fats are found in avocados, fruits, vegetables, proteins, whole grains, low fat dairy, fish and promotes HDL (good cholesterol). It is important to ask yourself what preventative measures have you taken to improve your health.
